This morning was another morning of severe disruption for thousands of travelers on the Rome-Naples railway line. A technical fault occurred early at dawn between Minturno and Sessa Aurunca, disrupting the regularity of service, causing delays, cancellations, and severe delays, especially for commuters heading to the capital.
The situation had repercussions along the entire route, with delays of up to 100 minutes in several cases, making travel particularly difficult for workers and students.
Among the most affected trains were the Intercity 582 Salerno-Rome Termini, which ended its journey early at Naples Central, and the Intercity 701 Rome-Taranto, which was cancelled.
Numerous regional trains have also suffered slowdowns and changes to their circulation, with inevitable consequences for thousands of passengers forced to wait in stations or to rearrange their journeys.
The consequences of the breakdown extended to Rome Termini station, where, starting from the early hours of the morning, there were delays, prolonged waits, and a heavy influx of travelers seeking information on their trains.
Rail traffic continued at reduced speed, with inevitable repercussions on the entire system of connections between central and southern Italy.
According to Trenitalia, the disruption was caused by technical checks on the railway line between Minturno and Sessa Aurunca.
Technicians intervened to restore the infrastructure to full functionality, while traffic continued to be slowed to allow operations to be carried out safely.
