Naples: A flash robbery in Piazza Garibaldi: the bandit with his arm in a cast arrested.

Despite his arm being in a cast, he didn't hesitate to attack his victim from behind to carry out a robbery. It happened on the night between Monday and Tuesday in Piazza Garibaldi, in the heart of Naples's railway district, where a man was attacked while sitting at a table in a shop.

Twenty-five-year-old Zoher El Massaoudi, a Moroccan citizen with no legal residence, and an accomplice approached the victim under a trivial pretext, asking for money or food. Then, taking advantage of a moment of distraction, he violently punched the victim in the head, managing to steal his smartphone from the table.

Police intervention

The man's screams attracted the attention of a patrol car from the Vicaria-Mercato police station, who were patrolling the area. The officers intervened immediately, managing to apprehend the robber after a few meters.

There was a violent reaction: the young man resisted, kicking and elbowing the police officers before being finally subdued.

The stolen goods were recovered and returned to the victim. The 25-year-old, already known to law enforcement for property crimes, was arrested on charges of robbery and resisting arrest.
Represented by attorney Fabio Quintaluce, the man is currently in prison awaiting a sentencing hearing. Investigations are underway to identify and locate his escaped accomplice.

The incident refocuses attention on security in the Central Station area, long considered one of the city's most critical points. Despite the constant presence of law enforcement, incidents of petty crime and urban violence continue to occur.
