The police at the New Houses
Naples – A routine patrol resulted in an arrest last night in the Case Nuove neighborhood of Naples. Officers from the State Police's Office of General Prevention and Public Aid arrested a 40-year-old man with a criminal record. He was charged with possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking, resisting arrest, and assaulting a public official.
The intervention took place on Via Toscano, where the police officers noticed the man who, at the sight of the patrol car, attempted to move away in an attempt to avoid being stopped.
While fleeing, the 40-year-old threw away a package of food, throwing it near a garbage can. This act, however, did not go unnoticed by the officers, who immediately caught up with him and arrested him.
The man resisted violently, resulting in a fight before being finally subdued.
During a personal search, officers found the 40-year-old in possession of €40 in cash. They subsequently recovered the package thrown earlier, determining that it contained 14 pre-packaged doses of crack cocaine, believed to be intended for sale.
Based on the evidence gathered, the man was arrested and placed at the disposal of the judicial authorities on charges of illicit possession of narcotics for the purpose of dealing, resisting arrest, and assaulting a public official.
