Napoli, Badiashile tops the list: the assault on Chelsea's centre-back begins.

NAPLES – Napoli's defensive emergency is changing their plans, as they speed up the transfer market in search of a center back to make available to Massimiliano Allegri immediately. Following Alessandro Buongiorno's serious injury, which is expected to sideline him for approximately five months, the club's management has decided to take decisive action, and the first name on the list is Benoît Badiashile.

The Chelsea defender has become the top target of sporting director Giovanni Manna, who has reportedly already initiated initial discussions with the London club to explore the feasibility of the deal. This move confirms what the director himself had hinted in recent days: if necessary, Napoli would return to the transfer market to strengthen their defence.

After discussions with Allegri, the choice seems to have fallen on the French centre-back, considered the ideal profile to guarantee reliability and experience in a season that will see the Azzurri engaged on several fronts.

Chelsea value the 2001-born player at around €15 million, but Napoli are aiming to find a more sustainable option. The idea is to close the deal on loan, with an option or obligation to buy, a solution that would allow the Neapolitan club to immediately strengthen their squad without immediately impacting their budget.

Badiashile's last season was hampered by physical problems and limited use in the Blues' rotation. The Frenchman made just eight Premier League appearances, a performance below expectations that could push Chelsea to open the door to a transfer.

Napoli is aware of the concerns surrounding the player's fitness, but believes his potential and qualities could be the right answer to Buongiorno's absence. The club's goal is to complete the deal as quickly as possible, allowing Allegri to have a new defensive pillar in place during the coming weeks of preparation.
