Massive traffic stop in Bagnoli: eight fines issued for traffic violations and two businesses closed for irregularities.
NAPLES – State Police conducted extraordinary checks in the Porta Nolana, Porta Capuana, and Barra areas. The operations resulted in 15 people reported and two guns seized, in addition to the discovery of numerous illegal connections to the public electricity grid.
The activity is part of the Naples Police Headquarters' plan to intensify services to strengthen prevention and surveillance in the areas most affected by critical incidents. Officers from the Office of General Prevention and Public Rescue identified a total of 172 people, forty of whom had criminal records, and inspected 48 vehicles.
In the Porta Nolana neighborhood, officials from the Vicariate-Mercato Police Station, with the support of Enel technical staff, discovered 15 electricity supplies illegally connected to the public grid. The irregular connections affected 13 businesses and two residential customers. The owners were reported for electricity theft.
During another operation in the Barra neighborhood, officers from the San Giovanni-Barra Police Station conducted a search inside a building, where they found two hidden firearms. They were a 9mm pistol with two rounds of ammunition and a .22-caliber pistol with five rounds of ammunition, both without identification tags. The weapons were seized and will be subjected to further investigation.
The operation confirms the strengthening of law enforcement presence in the city's most sensitive areas, with particular attention to combating predatory crimes, irregularities, and illegal possession of weapons.
