Rolling pin used as a weapon: Family outrage in Caivano, 5 arrests

Naples – A trivial domestic argument, sparked within the confines of an apartment for what were described as fleeting reasons, nearly escalated into tragedy in the northern suburbs of Naples. Within minutes, the built-up tensions erupted into a violent family brawl that required emergency intervention by law enforcement, resulting in five arrests and two charges.

The alarm at 112

The chain of events began with a desperate call to the 112 operations center. On the other end, a woman was panting for help, reporting a serious argument. Sensing the gravity of the situation, the operators immediately dispatched a patrol car from the Caivano Company's Mobile Radio Section to the scene.

Upon their arrival, the military found themselves faced with an unmistakable scenario: the screams and noises of the fight were so loud that they clearly spread along the stairwell of the building, leading the officers directly to the door of the incriminated apartment.

The apparent truce and the kitchen weapon

Once they crossed the threshold, at the sight of the uniforms, a sudden and fleeting silence fell upon the house. However, it was only a brief, apparent respite. The atmosphere, saturated with resentment, heated up again after just a few moments: the spiral of insults, threats, and shouting began again with even greater violence.

Despite the Carabinieri's attempts to mediate and calm those present, the situation quickly escalated. At the height of the chaos, one of the women involved grabbed a heavy rolling pin, brandishing it as a weapon, and attempted to blindly strike anyone in her path, including the officers who were trying to contain the fury of those present.

Only thanks to the Carabinieri 's prompt and decisive action were the robberies prevented from hitting their mark, with worse consequences. Once the troublemakers were subdued and order was restored inside the building, legal action was taken in consultation with the Public Prosecutor's Office.

Five people were arrested (a 30-year-old woman, two 29-year-olds, a 56-year-old man, and a 26-year-old), all of whom were placed under house arrest pending a summary trial. A 29-year-old man and a 64-year-old man were also held at large for the same crime—aggravated brawl.
