Ambush in Pimonte, Mafia boss Raffaele Afeltra killed

PIMONTE – Fear returns to the Monti Lattari area, where a deadly ambush occurred this evening.

The victim is Raffaele Afeltra, known by the nickname “'o Burraccion,” who was hit by several gunshots along the road connecting Gragnano to Pimonte.

The man, already known to law enforcement and recently released from prison after serving a long sentence, died following the ambush.

The Carabinieri arrived at the crime scene, began an investigation and carried out all the necessary tests to accurately reconstruct what happened.

Investigators are currently trying to shed light on the circumstances of the murder and, more importantly, the possible motive. No hypothesis has been ruled out, and investigations over the next few hours will clarify the context in which the attack unfolded.
