Accident on the A1: Truck and Five Cars Involved, 7km of Tailbacks towards Naples
A serious accident has paralyzed traffic on the A1 Milan-Naples motorway, causing a tailback of approximately 7 kilometers southbound. The accident, which occurred at kilometer marker 718, involved a truck and five cars, forcing the temporary closure of the stretch between Caianello and Capua.
Emergency medical services, firefighters, traffic police, and Autostrade per l'Italia staff quickly arrived on the scene. Water was distributed to stranded motorists.
Authorities advise drivers heading towards Naples to exit at Caianello and continue on the SS6 Via Casilina, then rejoin the motorway at Capua or, alternatively, to exit early at Cassino and return to Santa Maria Capua Vetere.
Safety and traffic restoration operations are underway, with the aim of reopening the affected section as quickly as possible.
