The victim Genoveffa Totaro
Gragnano – A decisive turning point marks the investigation into the tragic disappearance of Genoveffa "Gena" Totaro, the 75-year-old woman found charred inside her home in Gragnano yesterday. The Torre Annunziata Prosecutor's Office has issued a detention order against the victim's cohabiting daughter, 45-year-old FB, following a long and intense interrogation during which serious evidence of her guilt emerged.
According to an initial reconstruction by the Carabinieri, the suspect intentionally cut the gas pipe inside the apartment and then set it ablaze. The resulting fire engulfed and killed the elderly mother, leaving her with no chance of escape.
The medical and motives of the arrested woman remain unclear: investigators suspect she may be suffering from mental disorders, a crucial factor that will be the subject of specific and in-depth forensic investigations in the coming hours.
