Luxury car recovered in Sicily: 54-year-old arrested for fraud in Pontecorvo
An investigation launched after a 55-year-old man from Pontecorvo filed a complaint led to the arrest of a 54-year-old man from the province of Naples on charges of fraud.
The man allegedly purchased a luxury car using a cloned bank check worth €62.500 and provided false identification documents. The Carabinieri of the Ischia station, acting on an order from the preliminary investigations judge of the Cassino Court, executed a precautionary house arrest order with an electronic bracelet.
Law enforcement, coordinating with the Cassino Prosecutor's Office, tracked the vehicle's movement using geolocation systems, video surveillance cameras, and tracking, successfully tracing it to Sicily. With the help of their colleagues in Messina, the car was recovered and returned to its rightful owner.
The arrest of the alleged fraudster represents a significant achievement in the fight against fraud in the luxury car market.
