"Stop the spiral of violence": the investigating judge explains the measure affecting Martina Carbonaro's parents.

Naples – Prevent violence from begetting violence: the parents of Martina Carbonaro, killed by her ex-boyfriend Alessio Tucci, must keep their distance from the defendant and her family. The use of an electronic bracelet and a ban on contact with the defendant's family, according to the prosecutor's office, should halt the spiral of threats and violence that has gripped the two families since the crime.

The North Naples Prosecutor's Office is accusing the father and mother of Martina Carbonaro, the 14-year-old killed by stones in May 2025, of committing two crimes: the first dates back to April 5, 2026, and the second to May 9.

At the request of the Prosecutor's Office, the investigating judge of North Naples issued the restraining order. Among the incidents alleged against the parents of the girl who was the victim of femicide is one that occurred in court, during the first hearing of the young man's trial, held on May 19th: on that occasion, mutual threats were made in the courtroom.

Martina Carbonaro's parents will have to stay away from Tucci's home, which is located about 300 meters from the abandoned farmhouse where the murder took place, a place where her mother, Enza Cossentino, often goes to leave flowers and mourn. "These are just two isolated incidents," he writes in a statement presented to the judge by Sergio Pisani, the Carbonato family's lawyer, "which occurred just over a month apart and both are attributable to acute states of altered behavior... not to a deliberate and systematic program of intimidation."

Alessio Tucci's lawyer, Mario Mangazzo, also spoke out on the matter: "I learned from the press that Martina's parents have been ordered to stay away from Alessio Tucci's immediate family. We are awaiting official notification from the Prosecutor's Office of the Court of Northern Naples. In any case, I would like to point out that this measure was issued following several incidents reported by Alessio Tucci's family members, which occurred between December 26, 2025, and April 2026, for the crime of continued stalking.

"The grief of Martina's parents can never justify the conduct committed against Alessio's family, who are completely unrelated to the tragic legal proceedings of May 26, 2025," the lawyer said, concluding. "We must avoid the risk of violence begetting more violence."
