Naples Weather August 13st
Summer is relentless in Campania. Today, Thursday, August 13, Naples and much of the region will experience another day of intense heat, with temperatures in the capital reaching 37 degrees Celsius (98.4 degrees Fahrenheit), and temperatures that feel even higher due to the humidity. The city remains among those with a red warning due to heatwave risk, with particular attention being paid to the most vulnerable segments of the population.
Over the capital, skies will be mostly clear or partly cloudy in the morning. Cloud cover is expected to increase during the afternoon, with a few brief, isolated showers, while large clear spells will return in the evening.
Temperatures will range between 28 and 37 degrees Celsius, accompanied by moderate winds and a generally calm sea. The heat will be particularly intense during the central hours of the day, when the perceived temperature may be even higher.
Over the rest of the region, the weather will remain stable along the coast, while heat storms may develop in the afternoon, especially in the inland areas of Irpinia, Sannio, and the Campanian Apennines, with local incursions towards some coastal areas.
In the Salerno area in particular, showers and brief thunderstorms are possible in the afternoon before a general improvement in the weather in the evening.
Health authorities remain vigilant due to the heatwave that has been affecting Naples for several days. The City Council urges residents and tourists to limit outdoor activities between 11:00 AM and 5:00 PM, to maintain proper hydration, and to pay particular attention to the elderly, children, and those with chronic conditions.
The expected temperatures
Naples: minimum 28°C, maximum 37°C.
Inland areas of Campania: temperatures between 37 and 39°C.
Coasts: sultry climate but mitigated by the sea breeze, with generally calm seas.
