Over 1.400 interventions after the earthquake, according to the Fire Brigade.

Pozzuoli – Eleven days after the powerful 4,7-magnitude earthquake that shook the Solfatara area, the Fire Department's response is impressive. More than 1.400 interventions have been carried out in the Phlegraean Fields and Naples area, while the rescue team continues to work to process the remaining outstanding requests.

The situation at 8 this morning

According to data updated as of 8:00 a.m. today, Monday, August 10, the number of projects still to be completed has dropped to 36, a residual number compared to the amount of work accumulated in the hours immediately following the earthquake of July 31. The inspections led to the evacuation of 199 buildings and involved a total of 974 residential units.

Teams from all over Italy on the field

Currently, 36 MO.RECS (Stability Survey and Census Modules) are active in the region, 30 of which were added from Fire Brigade Commands in regions outside Campania. Four come from Campania Commands and two directly from Naples.

In addition, there is a specialized team from the Regional Directorate, responsible for the protection of Cultural Heritage, and five teams dedicated to recovering furniture and household goods from damaged homes. Finally, logistical support for the population of Pozzuoli continues, with three 100-kiloliter tankers distributing non-potable water.

Commander Paduano's point

"This morning's numbers show a marked improvement in the situation," emphasized Giuseppe Paduano, provincial commander of the Naples Fire Brigade, "with pending interventions down to just 36, compared to the 1.400 already completed." This result, he emphasized, "is the fruit of the constant and coordinated work of our Command, of reinforcements from the Campania Region and beyond, and of all the teams involved, from the structural integrity checks on buildings to the protection of cultural heritage, including water supply and the recovery of household goods."

The commander then assured that the operation will continue without compromise: "We will continue to operate with the same commitment until all requests are exhausted, to fully guarantee the protection of citizens' public and private safety."
