School: the school year begins in South Tyrol on September 7th, with Apulia coming last on the 17th.

While summer is still in full swing, the resumption of school activities is approaching for over 7 million Italian students. The 2026/2027 school year will begin first in the autonomous province of Bolzano, where classes will begin on September 7th. Classes will then resume on September 10th in Veneto, the autonomous province of Trento, and the Aosta Valley.

The calendar will continue with the return to classes scheduled for September 14th in Friuli Venezia Giulia, Liguria, Lombardy, Marche, Molise, Piedmont, and Umbria. The following day, September 15th, it will be the turn of Calabria, Campania, Emilia-Romagna, Lazio, Sicily, and Tuscany. Abruzzo, Basilicata, and Sardinia will begin classes on September 16th, while the last to return will be students in Puglia, on September 17th.

The end of classes will also vary depending on the region. Students in Emilia-Romagna and Marche will be the first to end the school year, on June 5, 2027, followed by Basilicata, Calabria, Campania, Lazio, Liguria, Lombardy, Puglia, Sardinia, Umbria, and the autonomous province of Trento, which will close on June 8.

June 9th will be the last day for Abruzzo, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Molise, and Valle d'Aosta, while Piedmont, Sicily, and Tuscany will conclude on June 10th. Veneto will end the school term on June 12th, and the autonomous province of Bolzano on June 16th.

Regarding preschool, in most regions, activities will end on June 30, 2027, with the exception of Friuli Venezia Giulia, where they will close on June 26, and the autonomous province of Trento, which will extend activities until July 30.
