Visionnaire26, the Audacity of Beginnings: a month of cinema, theater, music, and free thought in Baronissi.

Six years is no coincidence. It's a journey, a choice, a declaration of intent. The Orange Terrace at the FRaC Museum in Baronissi (Salerno) it lights up again with Visionnaire26, the multidisciplinary festival that since 2021 has brought cinema, music, theater, books, and free thought to the area.
The theme of the sixth edition is “The Audacity of Beginnings”: not just the moment something begins, but the courage needed to take that first step. An invitation to look to the future through the stories of women and men who had the strength to break the mold, experiment with new languages, and open new paths in Italian and international culture.
All events are free to attend and begin at 8:30 pm.
The actor will once again lead Visionnaire26 Andrea Avagliano, artistic director of a program conceived as a choral story. The organization is byAssociation All Played in synergy with the FRaC Baronissi Museum, Directed by Pasquale RuoccoThe project enjoys the patronage of the Municipality of Baronissi, of the moral patronage of theRoberto Association Rossellini and the contribution of the Film Commission of the Campania Region.

“Bold and free”: the Visionnaire26 manifesto

This year's theme draws inspiration from President Mattarella's speech at the David di Donatello Awards. Visionnaire26 aims to explore the momentum that drives every human and artistic revolution. We're not celebrating the past: we're learning to look to the future through the eyes of those who aren't afraid to start over.. This is the vision of Andrea Avagliano, which entrusts the new edition with a precise message: being bold means having the courage to take a risk, to change perspective and to transform an idea into a new beginning.
And as the festival grows, its relationship with the local area also strengthens. Pasquale Ruocco, director of the FRaC, underlines how Visionnaire is now «one of the highest moments of our programming", confirming the museum's vocation as a space open to dialogue between the different languages of contemporary art.
Cinema, documentary, music, and theater thus become tools for meeting, engaging, and building a cultural community. Adding further value to the event is the presence of Alessandro Rossellini, a key figure and ambassador for Visionnaire since its first edition.
I've had the privilege of being here since 2021, when I presented The Rossellinis around the world. But it was my love for this area, meeting special people, and the belief that culture should be brought to places where it's most difficult to reach, that kept me anchored to Baronissi.A bond that, over the years, has transformed into a true collaboration and which today looks to the future with the desire to continue growing together.

Meeting with Pappi Corsicato

A conversation with the director, Alessandro Rossellini, and Mariangela Palmieri. The director will be awarded the Visionnaire26 Lifetime Achievement Award.

Pappi Corsicato's Vipere (Mondadori) is a narrative debut in which passion intertwines with the shadows of the heart and the stage. A compelling novel, it explores the dynamics of desire and ambition with irony and subtlety, showing how easy it is to lose one's way when stage and life begin to overlap. His debut film will also be screened during the evening. Free.
Libera is the episodic film that marked Pappi Corsicato's feature film debut in 1993. It premiered at the Berlin Film Festival in the Forum section and won numerous awards in Italy—the Nastro d'Argento, Grolla d'Oro, Globo d'Oro della Stampa Estera, and Ciak d'Oro—for best first film. Set against the backdrop of a chaotic and evocative Naples, the film tells the stories of three women grappling with different issues: Aurora is a wealthy housewife dissatisfied with her husband who shamelessly cheats on her; Carmela is the scandal of the neighborhood after her son ends up in prison, but especially after the neighbors discover her secret; Libera is a newsagent who finds a very unusual way to exact revenge for her husband's repeated infidelities.

Talk to the director Pavel Talankin, Rino Sciarretta e Erminia Pellecchia
Pavel TalankinPasha, known to all as Pasha, is a beloved teacher at a Russian elementary school: ironic and close to his students, he transforms his office into a small space of freedom and listening. But when Russia invades Ukraine, the course of daily life changes, and so does the school: lessons are filled with patriotic rhetoric, militarized youth groups emerge, and education becomes a tool of propaganda.
Forced, as the institute's videographer, to document official activities, Pasha decides to use his video camera to tell the story of what's really happening around him. He films from the inside the progressive normalization of war, the burden of consensus, and the growing involvement of young people. What begins as a private testimony transforms into a silent, daily act of resistance, until he is forced to make a radical choice: leave his country to bring those images to the world.
