Pepper spray
Tension erupted this morning in Vallo Scalo, in the Palazza district of the municipality of Salento, in the province of Salerno, where an argument between two women escalated into an assault involving the use of pepper spray. The victim, struck directly in the face by the pepper spray, was treated by emergency personnel and transferred to the San Luca Hospital in Vallo della Lucania for further assessment.
According to initial reports, the argument broke out inside an apartment building. The screams and commotion quickly alerted other residents, who realized the seriousness of the situation. The victim's family apparently called the police after the victim called the emergency number.
Carabinieri from the local company arrived on the scene, checked the woman's condition and dispatched an ambulance from the Misericordia di Vallo, stationed in Omignano. Paramedics found facial injuries and eye problems caused by exposure to the spray, requiring her to be taken to the hospital.
The Carabinieri have already begun investigations to reconstruct the exact circumstances of the incident, clarify the reasons for the fight, and determine who may be responsible. At this time, the possibility of the assaulted woman filing a complaint has not been ruled out.
