Waste dumping and abandonment: seizures in Mondragone, Castel Volturno, and Carinola

In the so-called "Palazzi Azzurri" residential complex in Mondragone, the police identified an area of ​​approximately 120 square meters in the condominium courtyard where numerous materials classified as special waste, including hazardous waste, were deposited directly on the ground: ferrous metal, household appliances, used batteries, plastic materials, tires, car carcasses, and used oil.

A local man has been reported at large to the judicial authorities, charged with illegal waste management. The area has been seized and placed under judicial control.

In the entrance hall of the same building, the Carabinieri also found a Lancia Y that, based on checks in police databases, had been reported stolen at the Naples Police Headquarters on February 12. The vehicle was seized and handed over to a licensed company; investigations are underway to identify the perpetrators.

Further operations in Mondragone led to the seizure of two areas where piles of solid urban waste were found: one on Via Traversa Cavalieri di Vittorio Veneto (approximately 30 square meters) and another along the SP 259 near the Savone River (approximately 20 square meters). Both areas have been cordoned off and placed in judicial custody of the mayor pro tempore for appropriate procedures.

In the Castel Volturno area, on Via Mezzagni, officers discovered a significant accumulation of abandoned waste covering an area of ​​approximately 40 square meters: municipal solid waste, a metal bed frame, mattresses, an armchair, a scooter, a sink, a sheet of metal, shoes, a tire, blankets, plastic, wooden parts, and construction debris. The area was seized and judicial custody was entrusted to the interim officer of Area 3 "Environment–Ecology" of the Municipality of Castel Volturno.

Finally, in Carinola, on Via Rio Persico, piles of waste covering an area of ​​approximately 20 square meters were discovered within an abandoned agricultural property. These consisted of solid urban waste, mattresses, glass bottles, cans, and clothing. This area was also cordoned off and seized; investigations are ongoing to determine the ownership of the property.
