Capri's famous Bar da Alberto is celebrating eighty years in business with a grand evening of music and entertainment scheduled for September 15th, open to residents and tourists.

Capri celebrates 80 years of Bar da Alberto with a party open to the entire island.
Bar da Alberto, one of Capri's historic establishments, is turning 80 and is inviting the entire island to celebrate this important milestone with a public celebration. The event will be held on Tuesday, September 15th, starting at 7:00 PM, in the heart of Capri, bringing together the bar and the surrounding piazza in an atmosphere of music and conviviality.
The evening will be enlivened by a series of musical performances ranging from local folk traditions to international music. Opening the festivities will be Capri groups Scialapopolo and La Bella Capri, who will perform traditional island songs and melodies. The Matteo Borghi Band will then perform a repertoire of Italian music and international hits designed to captivate the audience, while Eclissi di Soul will close the evening with soul, funk, and disco sounds.
The history of Bar da Alberto began in 1946, when Alberto, after working as a pastry chef on the ocean liner Rex, opened the business with his wife Immacolata. Post-war Capri was a very different island from the tourist scene it is today, and the bar has become a landmark for residents and visitors over time.
The business has been passed down from generation to generation: from founder Alberto to the second generation with Giovanni and GiannaMaria, up to the third with Alberto and Rita, who continue the tradition today.
For those wishing to make a gesture of solidarity during the event, an anonymous donation collection point has been set up: the proceeds will be donated to charities on the island, thus turning the celebration into a concrete contribution to the community.
The invitation is open to all to share music, joy, and a toast that celebrates not only the longevity of a business, but also the deep bond between Bar da Alberto and the Capri community.
