The Financial Police of Benevento
Benevento – This morning, finance officers from the Benevento Provincial Command executed a decree issued by the Naples Court, Preventive Measures Section, ordering the seizure of numerous assets attributable to a sixty-year-old man from Benevento.
The man, who already had a criminal record for tax crimes and crimes against the public administration, was deemed a social danger because he habitually lived off the proceeds of criminal activities, which began at least in 2006.
The measure stems from a proposal by the Public Prosecutor's Office and is the result of targeted asset investigations conducted by the Benevento Economic and Financial Police Unit. The investigations uncovered the availability of unjustified assets disproportionate to the declared income, including several apartments in Benevento and the surrounding province, formally registered to family members but acquired, according to investigators, with illicit proceeds. This satisfied the requirements of the Anti-Mafia Code.
The seizure included, in addition to the properties, the entire business complex of a construction company, several bank accounts, and several vehicles. The total value of the assets is estimated at approximately €800.000.
