The Tower of Babel turns 50: it's being released on vinyl in a special, numbered edition.

To mark the 50th anniversary of Edoardo Bennato's first release, Sony Music is paying homage to "La Torre di Babele" with a special, numbered, collectible vinyl edition, available from Friday, September 18th in two formats: one with an autographed poster and exclusively on the Sony Music Store, and another with an unsigned poster available for purchase in all stores.

Both versions feature a metallic cover and audio remastered at 24Bit/192kHz from the original tapes, to restore the album to a sound quality worthy of its importance in the history of Italian music.

The poster reproduces the famous cover designed by Edoardo Bennato himself, an artwork that depicts the technological evolution of man through the development of weapons: one hundred figurines of warriors and soldiers follow one another and line up to form a Tower of Babel.

"La Torre di Babele" is Bennato's cult album, released in 1976, which marked his artistic maturation. Bennato explains that, with the album, he aims to describe the dynamics of humanity's dedication to war and weapons, through a provocative irony that runs through the lyrics and describes the ills of society.
