Avellino – Seven thousand euros vanished from a bank account in a matter of moments. This is the result of a phishing scam targeting a bank account holder in Frigento, in the province of Avellino.

The victim was lured via a text message that appeared to be from her bank. Shortly thereafter, she was contacted by phone by a man posing as a bank employee. By feigning a computer malfunction, the scammer obtained her account credentials and immediately withdrew the entire deposit.

After the complaint, the Carabinieri tracked down the alleged perpetrator: a 26-year-old from Naples, charged with computer fraud and aggravated fraud.
