An elderly man disappears from the hospital in Aversa: he was found confused in Parete.

The story of an 86-year-old man who left Aversa hospital this morning without being heard from again has had a happy ending within a few hours.

Reporting and activating rescue

The search was initiated by the elderly man's son who, noticing his father's absence from the ward where he was hospitalized, contacted the Carabinieri at the Aversa station to report his disappearance.

Upon receiving the report, the military initiated emergency procedures:

Entering data into the inter-force database of missing persons.

Immediate activation of the Provincial Plan for the search for missing persons.

The search has been distributed to all departments of the Carabinieri operating in the surrounding areas and along possible transit routes.

The identification on the wall

The turning point came during the afternoon in Parete. A patrol from the local Carabinieri station spotted the 86-year-old man on Via Follerau, standing outside a bakery and clearly in a state of mental confusion.

The Carabinieri approached to provide first aid and verify his identity, confirming that he was the man sought throughout the area.

Returning to the facility and lifting the alarm

Emergency medical personnel arrived on the scene and, in the presence of the family members who were immediately notified, took charge of the elderly man and transferred him back to the emergency room at Aversa hospital, where he underwent the necessary tests.

Following the successful outcome of the intervention, the search and the Provincial Plan were officially revoked, and the competent Public Prosecutor's Office was informed.
