During an operation aimed at combating drug dealing in the Porta Capuana and Porta Nolana areas, the State Police arrested a 42-year-old man with a criminal record for possession of narcotics for the purpose of dealing.
The operation took place yesterday evening when officers from the Vicaria-Mercato Police Station, engaged in a territorial control operation, observed the exchange of a package containing drugs between the 42-year-old and another individual.
The suspect picked up the dose from the ground and was immediately apprehended along with the buyer, who was in possession of the newly purchased substance. During the search, officers found €40 on the dealer and recovered six additional packages of cocaine and crack cocaine on the lawn.
At the same time, the Naples Police Headquarters has intensified its controls with the support of the Campania Crime Prevention Unit, extending the activity to surrounding areas.
During the extraordinary operation, 174 people were identified, 54 of whom had criminal records, and 71 vehicles were checked. The buyer was fined for possession of drugs for personal use, while the 42-year-old was arrested and placed at the disposal of the judicial authorities.
