Days after the fire that struck the Casacelle area, the smell of burning continues to weigh on life in the neighborhood: residents are growing unease, and it's not hard to understand why. The flames licked an area near homes and schools, turning a news story into a case that questions the entire community.

It is in this climate that the Idee e Concretezza APS Association has acted, choosing not to sit back and watch. This morning, its president, Salvatore Mautone, entered City Hall for a direct meeting with the municipal administration. The meeting was attended by Mayor Diego D'Alterio, Councilor for Education Caterina Pennacchio, and Councilor for the Environment Paolo Russo.

The summit in the Municipality

The meeting's objective was to review the incident and learn about the countermeasures adopted to protect residents. The discussion yielded an initial, concrete response: this morning, the Local Health Authority (ASL) conducted an inspection of the affected schools, in preparation for the cleanup and sanitization operations scheduled for tomorrow.

The investigations, however, don't stop there. Technicians and the relevant authorities are continuing their investigations, while the mayor has assured that he is in constant contact with the relevant authorities to monitor the situation and implement all necessary measures to ensure the safety of the area.

"As an association, we felt it was our duty to be there," Mautone said at the end of the meeting. "What happened in Casacelle doesn't just concern a single area: when a fire affects an area near homes and schools, we must be extremely vigilant."

A firm stance, but without an ultimatum: "We don't want to create alarm," the president continued, "but we demand controls, transparency, prevention, and clear answers. It's important to await the results of the investigations by the competent authorities and, in the meantime, ensure all necessary conditions are in place so that schools, families, and citizens can feel protected."

Continuous surveillance

The association's commitment, Mautone assures, doesn't end with today's meeting: Idee e Concretezza will continue to monitor the situation step by step, bringing citizens' concerns and requests to the relevant authorities.
"We must not let our guard down," he concluded. "Protecting the environment, schools, and citizen safety must be a priority. Idee e Concretezza will continue to do its part, with responsibility and a presence in the local area."
