Parete: Forestry Police seize truck with waste
During a patrol to investigate environmental crimes, the Carabinieri Forestale intercepted an open-bed truck containing a mixture of hazardous and non-hazardous waste. The lack of a FIR led to the seizure and the driver being charged.

The Carabinieri Forestale of the Marcianise Unit, as part of a patrol aimed at combating environmental crimes, operated in the Parete (Caserta) area along Provincial Road 33 in the direction of Parete-Giugliano.
An open-bed truck was intercepted, apparently loaded with waste. Following the inspection, the materials transported were identified, including a spent gas cylinder; WEEE consisting of a decommissioned electric oven and a rusty fan; iron cookware; wooden boards; packaging contaminated with hazardous substances with danger labels; plastic paint packaging; and plastic bags containing construction waste.
The driver was found to be without the Waste Identification Form (FIR) and the waste was mixed together, not compliant with the requirements of the authorization issued by the Register of Environmental Managers, Campania Section.
As a result, the truck and the waste it transported were seized, and the driver was charged at large with the following crimes: transportation of mixed hazardous and non-hazardous waste, and transportation of hazardous waste without a valid FIR (report of illegal activity) or equivalent documents. The action was part of the environmental control activities of the province of Caserta.
