Searching for missing people on the Morandi Bridge: Marley, the firefighter's dog, dies

Again – He spent ten years alongside firefighters searching for people missing under the rubble: Marley, the dog from the Marche Fire Brigade's canine unit, has died.

The Macerata Command and the National Corps bid farewell to him today, remembering his dedication and hard work over the years he served alongside the Red Helmets. Serving from November 2013 to April 2023 alongside his commander, retired unit chief Dante Mariucci, Marley participated in numerous emergency scenarios, providing his training and flair to rescuers. Among the most significant interventions of his career were the 2016 Central Italy earthquake and the collapse of the Morandi Bridge.

But in addition to these tragedies, during his career there were many searches for missing people on the surface.
