Illegal races in the city center and sleepless nights: reports are issued and motorcycles are seized.
Cellole – Sleepless nights, roaring engines at full speed, and danger in the heart of the city center. In Cellole, the joint operation launched this morning by the Municipal Police and the Carabinieri of the local station, engaged in a targeted effort to combat illegal motorcycle racing, concluded with three reports and the seizure of three motorcycles.
The intervention was initiated following repeated reports from residents, exhausted by the constant nighttime raids by a group of motorcyclists on city streets. The investigative and enforcement efforts, conducted through the analysis of surveillance footage and the establishment of specific checkpoints, allowed officers and military personnel to quickly identify the perpetrators.
Mayor Guido Di Leone announced the news in a video message posted on social media, reconstructing the steps of the operation, highlighting how the administration had initially sought a dialogue-based approach: "In recent days, we had repeatedly and informally urged these young people to moderate their behavior, with the primary goal of avoiding criminal prosecution or drastic measures. Unfortunately, the appeals were not enough, and it was essential to firmly enforce the law."
The fight against illegality and public disturbances will not stop there. As confirmed by local authorities, widespread checks will continue in the coming days, focusing particularly on nighttime hours to protect road safety and the livability of neighborhoods.
