Irregularities at a seniors' home in the Avellino area: activities suspended

Services have been suspended at a private healthcare facility for dependents in Baiano, in the province of Avellino, following an inspection by the Carabinieri. Officers from the local station, along with colleagues from the NAS (National Anti-Semitism Agency) and personnel from the Labor Inspectorate, found several organizational and structural irregularities.

During the inspection, deficiencies in the spaces allocated to healthcare workers and the presence of broken or non-functioning equipment were discovered. The inspections also revealed a higher number of beds than expected for the facility.

The inspections also included staff. Violations related to the lack of training were reported, and the presence of one person employed without a valid contract was identified.

In light of the irregularities discovered, the facility's activities have been suspended. The elderly residents, as per the provisions adopted, will remain inside the facility until the imposed requirements are met.

The checks are part of the surveillance activities carried out on facilities that house non-self-sufficient people, with particular attention to organizational conditions, environmental safety, and staff compliance.
