Jimenez responds to Gilmour's challenge, Fiorentina holds Napoli to a 1-1 draw at the Franchi.

Fiorentina and Napoli drew 1-1 at the Franchi stadium, after a hard-fought match with plenty of chances. A point apiece for Paolo Vanoli's side and Massimiliano Allegri's side, in a match that also featured three strikes against the woodwork.

Napoli broke the deadlock in the 23rd minute. After Olivera's header hit the post in the 22nd minute, the Azzurri took the lead through Billy Gilmour, who volleyed a Politano corner kick.

Fiorentina had previously come close to scoring on two quick occasions. In the 18th minute, Atta hit the crossbar, while two minutes later, Fagioli hit the woodwork again.

The hosts responded in the second half. In the 51st minute, Jimenez's shot from the edge of the box was deflected by Rafa Marin, who wrong-footed Milinkovic-Savic and brought the game back into balance.

The match remained open until the end, with further chances for both sides. De Gea and Milinkovic-Savic responded when called upon, preventing their respective teams from finding the winning goal. With the draw, Fiorentina climbed to four points in the standings, while Napoli reached seven.
