Tullio De Piscopo's Miranda on Vinyl and four days of events in Naples and Rome

The vinyl release of Miranda, released by Sony Music Italia, is out September 25th and features a native groove from 1972, reinterpreted today as Sambadance. The project originates in Naples, but describes a universal metropolis marked by anger, inequality, and hope.

This vinyl was created for my new song Miranda, a rousing groove that's been with me since 1972 and that I've been keeping in a drawer, waiting for the right moment to share it. That rhythm already had everything: the street, the pulse of the city, the chaos of the world, and the desire to stay standing even when everything seemed out of step.

In Miranda, the drums guide the piece, rather than accompany it: it stems from an urban, irregular, and profoundly human pulse that De Piscopo transformed into Sambadance, a sort of "body in motion." Miranda isn't a woman's name; in Latin, it means "look at beauty."

Vinyl and contents

The vinyl features "Miranda – Radio Version" and "Miranda – Long Version" on side A. Side B features "Andamento Lento," the new version presented at the 2026 Sanremo Music Festival with LDA and AKA 7EVEN, with arrangements by Francesco "Kekko" D'Alessio, along with the instrumental version of "Miranda," enhanced by Stefano Gajon's baritone sax solos and Frank Ricci's guitar.

The release comes at the end of a year marked by important milestones: De Piscopo celebrated his 80th birthday, performed at Sanremo with "Andamento Lento" (38 years after his debut at the Ariston), and received the MEI Award for Best Live Performance at Sanremo 2026.

A week of events: Naples and Rome, music and solidarity.

The release precedes four days of events: on September 26, De Piscopo will be among the guests at Una Serata di Stelle per PUPI in Piazza del Plebiscito, Naples, a charity event for the PUPI Foundation of Javier Zanetti and Paula de la Fuente.

On September 27th he will be in Rome for the 50th edition of Music Day Roma – Fiere del Disco, with an appointment at 16:00 pm at the Hotel Mercure Roma West, where he will present his new vinyl “Miranda”.

On September 28th, he will perform in Naples for the 14th edition of the Premio San Gennaro World, conceived and artistically directed by Gianni Simioli and promoted by the Department of Tourism and Productive Activities of the City of Naples. During the evening, De Piscopo will receive the City of Naples Medal from Mayor Gaetano Manfredi; the Premio San Gennaro World will be presented by LDA and AKA 7EVEN, with whom De Piscopo brought "Andamento Lento" back to the Ariston stage at Sanremo 2026.
