Tense moments erupted yesterday afternoon in Piazza Giuseppe Di Vittorio, Naples, where a 31-year-old man was arrested by the State Police after a check that resulted in an assault on officers.
The operation was carried out by officers from the Vasto-Arenaccia Police Station, engaged in territorial control. While passing through the area, the officers identified the man.
According to the police's reconstruction, during the operation the 31-year-old began to lose his temper, cursing the officers and subsequently escalating to physical aggression.
Officers managed to subdue him and subsequently arrested him. The man is charged with resisting arrest and assaulting a public official. The 31-year-old, who was found to be illegally present in Italy and had a criminal record, was also charged with illegal entry and residence in Italy.
