Posillipo: 49-year-old man flees police station and attacks officers; arrested

Yesterday afternoon, the State Police arrested a 49-year-old man with a criminal record for reckless evasion, resisting arrest, and assaulting a public official. According to the reconstruction by officers from the Posillipo Police Station, the man was spotted on Via Posillipo, toward Piazza San Luigi, cautiously wandering among parked vehicles on a scooter.

Suspicious of his behavior, the police attempted to arrest him. At that point, the 49-year-old, after a maneuver dangerous for traffic, accelerated and fled toward Largo Sermoneta. Shortly thereafter, he was located near a business on Via Garzilli.

During the check, the man displayed a hostile attitude toward the officers, who subdued him with difficulty and after a struggle. For these reasons, he was arrested by the officers.
