Sant'Arpino: A 48-year-old man climbs over a fence and attacks his ex-spouse.

Sant'Arpino – He allegedly entered the home after climbing over the fence, then verbally and physically assaulted his ex-husband. For this reason, a 48-year-old local man was arrested late yesterday evening by Carabinieri officers from the Sant'Arpino station, under serious suspicion of domestic abuse. His position will now be assessed by the judicial authorities.

The attack of September 21st

According to the Carabinieri's reconstruction, the climactic incident occurred on the afternoon of September 21st at the home of the woman, the suspect's ex-spouse and one year younger. The 48-year-old man allegedly reached the building, climbed over the fence, and entered the home's premises, subsequently carrying out the attack. He then immediately fled, disappearing without a trace.

Investigations and deferred flagrancy

The Carabinieri's investigative efforts allowed them to reconstruct the events through the acquisition of video surveillance images, the interviewing of people with knowledge of the facts, and further investigations. The evidence gathered then allowed them to locate the man and proceed with his arrest in flagrante delicto.

The treatments and the arrest

Following the attack, the victim sought medical attention at the Aversa Civil Hospital, where he was diagnosed with injuries that were deemed curable in two days. Following the completion of the formal procedures, the 48-year-old was taken to the Santa Maria Capua Vetere prison, where he remains at the disposal of the judicial authorities pending a validation hearing.

The man's position will have to be assessed in the subsequent phases of the proceedings, in full compliance with the guarantees of the law and the presumption of innocence until a final sentence is issued.
