Simply Red in Pompeii, Mick Hucknall in concert at the Amphitheatre on July 27, 2027

The music of Simply Red will once again resonate among the ancient stones of Pompeii. Mick Hucknall and his band will perform on July 27, 2027, at the Amphitheater of the Archaeological Park, as part of the fourth edition of BOP – "Beats of Pompeii."

The festival, created with the aim of combining major international concerts with the evocative power of Italy's archaeological heritage, opens its calendar of initial announcements with one of the most recognizable names on the international pop-soul scene.

For Simply Red, this will be a return to Italy after a year away from the country's stages. The Pompeii date will be part of their 40th Anniversary Tour and their new project, "Summer Funk '27," which will bring the British band to stages across the UK and Europe.

The concert will be a journey through the band's most famous songs, from "Fairground" to "Something Got Me Started" to "Money's Too Tight (To Mention)," hits that have spanned four decades of pop-soul and blue-eyed soul.

Joining Mick Hucknall on stage will be Ian Kirkham on saxophone, EWI and brass, Kenji Suzuki on guitar, Kevin Robinson on trumpet, woodwinds and percussion, Roman Roth on drums, Gary Sanctuary on keyboards and Orefo Orakwue on bass.

"We can't wait to return to the road in summer 2027 to play some incredible, historic venues across the UK and Europe," said Mick Hucknall. "You can expect a set packed with Simply Red's most compelling hits, guaranteed to get you on your feet and party in the sun with friends and family."

The fourth edition of BOP is organized by Blackstar Entertainment and Fast Forward, with artistic direction by Peppe Gomez. The event enjoys the patronage and support of the Ministry of Culture, the Campania Region, the Municipality of Pompeii, and the Archaeological Park.

The edition that concluded last July attracted 45 attendees, consolidating the event and further expanding its international reach.
