The Senese clan had business relations with the Caroccia family since 2017

Rome – Investigations into the 'Diabolik' murder have revealed "business partnerships in the restaurant industry" between the Senese and Caroccia families.

Investigating judge Livio Sabatini specifically cites, among others, Mauro Caroccia, who is serving a final sentence for fictitious registration of assets in favor of the Senese clan and is under investigation for money laundering as part of the investigation into the 'Bisteccheria d'Italia' restaurant, in which former Undersecretary of Justice Andrea Delmastro (not under investigation) owned and then sold shares.

In a conversation in March 2017, Vincenzo Senese, son of the boss Michele, "told Daniele Caroccia, Mauro's brother, his willingness to start a joint corporate relationship, specifying that Fabrizio Piscitelli, known as 'Lazialotto', should not be involved in the investment because, otherwise, he would not have participated in the business initiative.

In a wiretap dated March 18, 2017, Vincenzo Senese, Michele's son, offers Daniele Caroccia his "availability" but states "that Piscitelli should not have been involved in the investment," it is written.

The Roman criminal is called “Lazialotto”: “Eh, no… that one… that other one… Lazialotto… eh… let me understand because otherwise we’ll leave it alone…”. In the face of hostility, Caroccia reassures him that “Diabolik” was “involved for the sole purpose of identifying a suitable location to host the new business”.

"Maybe you didn't understand... so I wanted to go talk to him, because he has... let's say the channel, I mean, he knows someone who owns the shops there... just for that." "Oh, if he can help us pay the rent cheaply, those things... yes," replies Senese, who otherwise reiterates his "firm opposition" to making the investment with the man whose murder, two years later, would be ordered by his family, according to investigations by the Rome DDA.

Fabrizio Piscitelli, therefore, was excluded by the Senese family from "entrepreneurial" relationships in Mauro Caroccia's "catering" activities.

According to investigators, this was the first sign of a breakdown in relations between Diabolik, killed on August 7, 2019, and the mafia boss Michele Senese, who was held in prison as the instigator of the crime. The Rome investigating judge's order cites the "rift between Fabrizio Piscitelli and the Senese family" as the motive behind the murder. The investigating judge writes that, although brothers Michele and Gennaro Senese had been Piscitelli's "wedding witnesses," their "consolidated and long-standing bond" was already a "distant memory" by 2017.

According to internal sources, the Anti-Mafia Commission has requested documents from the Rome Prosecutor's Office regarding the investigation that led to today's arrests for the Piscitelli murder. The operation by the Carabinieri and the Rome Prosecutor's Office identifies Michele Senese as the "top man" in the murder of the former Lazio ultras leader.
