A late-night raid on a pharmacy in Arzano: the Prefecture cracks down, with extraordinary checks coming.

Naples – In the aftermath of the serious criminal raid carried out in the early hours of October 7 in Arzano—where a local pharmacy was vandalized and stolen medical supplies and cosmetics—the Prefect of Naples, Michele di Bari, drew a clear line against illegality. In firmly condemning the incident, the representative of the local government expressed his solidarity with the store owners and the entire population, emphasizing how such actions directly affect vital social and healthcare facilities for the urban fabric.

The government's response was swift: law enforcement immediately stepped up extraordinary and targeted patrols throughout the northern part of Naples, a region that remains under constant and ongoing monitoring.

Strategic synergy and the Memorandum of Understanding

The incident refocuses attention on the importance of structural prevention. The Prefect emphasized the solidity of the existing institutional cooperation with the Order of Pharmacists, Federfarma, and Assofarm, based on the Memorandum of Understanding for safety in the performance of social, healthcare, and essential public services signed at the Prefecture.

The agreement aims to spread advanced technological and logistical support to all pharmacies in the province:
Anti-robbery video alarm: State-of-the-art video surveillance systems connected in real time to the Police and Carabinieri Operations Rooms to drastically reduce response times.

Cashless transactions: Encourage electronic payments to eliminate or drastically reduce cash holdings, thus discouraging criminals.

Passive security: Strengthening physical barriers, with the adoption of shatterproof glass, armored doors, and reinforced shutters capable of slowing down or even preventing nighttime break-ins.

The Prefecture concludes that protecting the legality and safety of commercial and healthcare workers remains an absolute priority, pursued in close collaboration with police authorities and trade associations.
