Capua: Direct connection to electricity grid: café owner reported

The Carabinieri of Capua, with the technical support of Enel Distribuzione, discovered a cafeteria's electricity system directly connected to the public grid, bypassing the meter. A 66-year-old man was reported.

The Carabinieri of the Capua station, in collaboration with technicians from Enel Distribuzione, detected a direct connection of a public establishment's electrical system to the public grid, bypassing the meter. The actual economic damage is still being quantified.

During the inspection, conducted together with the distribution company's technical staff, it was discovered that the city center café was being powered directly from the grid, without recording consumption on the meter. A 66-year-old man, the owner of the business, was charged at large and will now be investigated by the judicial authorities.

The proceedings are in the investigative phase, and the quantification of the damages related to the stolen consumption will be determined through technical assessments of consumption. This action is part of the Carabinieri's control services aimed at protecting energy assets and preventing conduct that is harmful to public service providers.

The suspect's position will be assessed by the judicial authorities; the responsibility of the accused person must be definitively established with an irrevocable conviction.
