Domestic violence in Casapesenna
A call to 112 activated the Carabinieri in Casapesenna late yesterday morning. A 39-year-old woman reported being sexually assaulted by her partner, a 41-year-old man.
Investigators from the San Cipriano d'Aversa station, with the support of the Casal di Principe Police Unit, responded to a home following a report of domestic violence. The man, previously known for similar incidents, allegedly resisted identification; once taken to the station, he allegedly threatened the Carabinieri present.
The woman subsequently supplemented the original complaint, also reporting the incident. Upon completion of their investigation, the Carabinieri arrested the 41-year-old for mistreatment of family members or cohabitants, resisting arrest, and threatening a public official. The arrested man was taken to the Santa Maria Capua Vetere prison and remains at the disposal of the judiciary.
The proceedings are in the preliminary investigation phase, and the suspect's liability must be established with a final judgment, in compliance with the principle of presumption of innocence.
