Night watchman killed in Agropoli, security cameras implicate the killer.

An increasingly detailed reconstruction of the last movements of Walter Avallone, the 55-year-old night watchman from Eboli found dead two days ago in the parking lot of the Trentova nature reserve in Agropoli, is directing the investigation toward the man who was with him on the night of the murder.

The security guard was killed with a gunshot to the throat and, when his body was discovered inside the white Ford B-Max, there was no trace of his service weapon.

Investigators are combing through video surveillance footage from the area, which has allowed them to reconstruct key moments of the night the crime was committed. This investigation is being conducted by the Carabinieri of the Agropoli branch, coordinated by the Vallo della Lucania prosecutor's office, who are committed to identifying the alleged killer and clarifying what happened before and after the shooting.

The reconstruction of the night of the crime

According to image analysis, Avallone arrived in the Trentova parking lot in his car with another man. The two stopped near the nature reserve, and a few minutes later, the passenger fired the shot that struck the night watchman in the throat.

Immediately afterward, the man allegedly opened the trunk, took two bags, and walked away toward the overlook. It's precisely on those movements that investigators are focusing a significant portion of their work, as they reconstruct the suspect's route and determine whether other cameras may have captured his escape.

Two key aspects of the investigation remain unclear: the identity of the man accompanying the victim and the contents of the two bags taken after the murder. These elements could help define the motive and understand the relationship between Avallone and his alleged killer.

The gun and cell phone are still missing.

Currently, the missing items include the murder weapon and the 55-year-old's cell phone. Their disappearance represents a further front in the investigation, as the Carabinieri continue to verify every possible connection between the victim's movements, his social contacts, and the person who was with him at the time of the shooting.

The forensic medical examination could provide important assistance. The autopsy is scheduled for next Tuesday and will serve to clarify the circumstances of death, starting with the characteristics of the wound and any evidence useful in reconstructing the dynamics of the shooting.

Avallone, who had no criminal record, was separated and the father of two daughters. In recent months, he had been working as a freight train guard at the Sapri railway station. This job required him to spend some of his time away from the Piana del Sele, where he lived.

Rented room in Vibonati seized

Meanwhile, a new piece of the investigation has been added. Today, Carabinieri officers from the Agropoli branch seized a room in a bed and breakfast on Corso Umberto I, in Vibonati, rented by the victim.

The accommodation served as a base for the night watchman, who apparently decided to use it to avoid constant travel from the Piana del Sele area for his work in Sapri. Investigators are investigating whether the room was used exclusively by Avallone or whether it was shared with another person.

The answer could prove useful in reconstructing the fifty-five-year-old's social life, identifying any contacts, and verifying whether the room contains any evidence useful to the investigation. The seizure, however, does not in itself imply that a crime was committed in the apartment: it is an investigative check aimed at gathering possible evidence.

The seals on the room join those placed on the white Ford B-Max in which the security guard's body was found. Two different locations, therefore, entered into the scope of the investigation to piece together Avallone's last days.

Investigators' goal remains to identify the man filmed with the victim, accurately reconstruct the sequence of events, and understand how an evening in Agropoli turned into a murder. The images, technical investigations, and evidence gathered from the locations frequented by the night watchman will be crucial in shedding light on the Trentova crime.
