Fifty-one degrees in Marina di Ginosa (Taranto), 50 in Latina, Grazzanise (Caserta), and Capo Carbonara (Cagliari), and 49 in Lecce Galatina, Trapani, and Capo Frasca (Southern Sardinia). These are the highest temperatures recorded around midday by the Italian Air Force. The combination of high humidity, strong sunlight, and lack of ventilation threatens to make today one of the hottest days of this scorching summer. The heatwave is particularly felt in the central and southern regions and on the islands, with temperatures felt as high as 48°C in Rome, Rome, Genoa, Rimini, Udine, Viterbo, and Brindisi.
