"We tried, doing everything we could against a team that outperformed with all its players and with Neres having a great day. In the second half, Ferguson had the chance to make it 1-1. Napoli deserved it and played a great match. It's a shame," Italiano told Sport Mediaset.
Bologna, Italiano: “A decent match, 3-0 was an excessive result. We made serious mistakes”
Following the defeat against Napoli, Bologna coach Vincenzo Italiano gave a clear-eyed analysis of his team's performance. Speaking to DAZN, the coach acknowledged the difficulties his players encountered during the match, emphasizing that the final result was far too harsh compared to what was seen on the pitch. However, we have been punished beyond measure," said ItalianThe coach then highlighted one of the main critical points of the match: "We weren't very dangerous in attack.
During the "Si Gonfia la Rete" broadcast on Radio CRC, coach Domenico Di Carlo spoke about Napoli's future and prospects for next season. During the conversation hosted by Raffaele Auriemma, Di Carlo analyzed Napoli's current situation. "Can Italiano make the leap in quality at Napoli?
There are coaches who don't coach and immediately find themselves in big teams," commented Di Carlo. "Italiano has followed his own path, his own path. He's a coach who's growing and getting results, and he knows that every year you have to start over and get results." The coach then analysed Napoli's season, defining it "below one's means." He stressed that whoever takes the reins of the team next year will have advantages and disadvantages, but the main advantage will be that it will be difficult to do worse than the current season. "When you win the Scudetto, it's always difficult to win it again the following year, but not like this. Everyone has to find inspiration to start over, everyone has to question themselves." added Di Carlo. "There's still a game to play, maybe there'll still be something to get back into Europe.
