Among those arrested in the Carabinieri operation that yesterday broke up an international gang specializing in the production and trafficking of counterfeit money is also Catherine Deneuve's nephew, Igor Divetain Tremiankoff, son of one of the actress' daughters. Tremiankoff had already been arrested in Naples last January with 15 thousand counterfeit euros, and was arrested again yesterday in the Parisian hinterland on a warrant from the Benevento Prosecutor's Office, which coordinated the investigations of the Carabinieri of the Anti-Counterfeiting Command of Rome and the Investigative Unit of the Provincial Command of Benevento.

In the operation, 44 people were arrested, accused of criminal association, of a transnational nature, aimed at the production and trafficking, spending and introduction of counterfeit money in Italy and abroad and drug dealing. The military executed a preventive seizure order, from the investigating judge of the Court of Benevento, of numerous assets and companies for a total value of approximately 8 million euros, mostly belonging to Alfredo Muoio, owner of a company that produces playing cards. According to investigators, approximately 200 million euros of counterfeit money were put into circulation on the market while another 100 were seized by the military.
