A 21-year-old worker from Ercolano, engaged in the removal of asbestos cement sheets from a warehouse, fell from a height of approximately 12 meters.
It happened this afternoon in the industrial area “Calaggio” in Lacedonia, in the province of Avellino. The young worker, a 21-year-old from Ercolano, was busy removing asbestos cement sheets from the roof of a warehouse when he fell, for reasons currently being investigated, from a height of about 12 meters.
The Carabinieri of the Compagnia di Sant'Angelo dei Lombardi intervened immediately on site and are proceeding with the relevant investigations. For the 21-year-old, after the first aid on site by the 118 health workers, an emergency transfer was arranged. The helicopter ambulance, departed from the area in front of the Bisaccia hospital, took him to the “Cardarelli” in Naples where he is hospitalized.
