He had been on the run for two years and had managed to escape the police by hiding in a B&B in Pescara.
It was in his last hideout that the agents of the Lauro police station discovered him and Salvatore Cava, 37, son of Biagio, a boss who died two years ago, did not resist arrest. A preventive measure of special surveillance was hanging over him. According to the judicial authorities, he should have been required to reside in the municipality of Pago del Vallo di Lauro, precisely in the bunker villa that belonged to his father, protagonist of the forty-year feud with the Graziano clan for the control of Vallo di Lauro and the extortion racket in the province of Avellino.
When the agents raided the apartment, Salvatore Cava was with his wife. The first arrest dates back to May 2010 and even then he had fooled the police forces for two years, to the point of ending up on the list of the hundred most dangerous wanted in Italy; in that case Salvatore Cava was in a small villa a short distance from the family residence in Pago del Vallo di Lauro.
