The Naples Juvenile Prosecutor's Office is investigating a case of "revenge porn" involving a 15-year-old girl who reported her ex-boyfriend for allegedly posting nude photos of her on a popular Telegram chat (with tens of thousands of users).
The press has reported it. Two young people from the so-called "Napoli Bene" are involved in the sad story. These are images that she had taken and sent to her ex during their brief romantic relationship. As is known, Telegram also guarantees the anonymity of those who send images and also that of those who receive them, and therefore the verification activity appears difficult.
The phenomenon of “revenge porn” is increasingly gaining ground among the very young. Another similar case was reported last October by Neapolitan lawyers Sergio Pisani and Roberta Foglia Manzillo: the victims, again very young, had seen their privacy “slammed” on Instagram, at the mercy of hundreds of followers, at the hands of ruthless exes. A situation that also had a horrifying evolution: the administrators of the groups, to fuel this vicious circle of hot images, invented a sort of “do ut des”. In essence, if you wanted to view other vulgar content you had to reciprocate by looking for and publishing more of the same type. The two lawyers, after filing a complaint, asked for the “preventive seizure” of Instagram in order to force the well-known social network to use a reporting system suitable for intervening at least in the phase following the publication of that type of video and image to block it.
