Camorra: Review Court annuls arrest of boss of new Partenio clan
Facts already contested on other occasions, which could not be charged again. This is how the Court of Liberty motivated the cancellation of the precautionary measure for Nicola Galdiers, who, together with his brother Pasquale called 'o milord, leads the New Partenio Clan. The judges recognized the principle of chain contestation and accepted the request for annulment by the lawyer Gaetano Aufiero. Together with Galdiers another leading member of the clan, Carlo Dello Russo, was also released from prison.
Both were arrested last year as part of the investigation conducted by the Naples DDA into the controlled management of the judicial auctions of the Avellino court and the extortion racket in the Avellino hinterland. But recently the Review Court annulled the precautionary measure for the real estate agent who was allegedly the linchpin of the illicit business. The arrest warrants, signed by the prosecutor Henry John Woodcoock, contest mafia criminal association, disturbed freedom of auctions, extortion, political-mafia vote exchange, material forgery in official documents, fraud, fraudulent transfer of assets, money laundering.
In the same investigation, the former secretary of the Lega of Avellino and city councilor Damiano Genovese, son of the 41 bis boss Amedeo, founder of the first Partenio clan, was arrested. And the former city councilor Sabino Morano, candidate for mayor in the previous round, with the support of the Lega, is under investigation. Both are accused of having obtained votes controlled by the clan.
