Camorra: Puca Clan Extortionist Sentenced to 4 Years
Sentenced to four years for extortion and compensation for damages: this is the ruling of the Gup of the third section of the Court of Naples against Giuseppe Gallucci, belonging to the Puca clanThe victim of the extortion attempt was a building contractor assisted by the lawyer Alessandro Motta who legally represents Sos Impresa which joined the injured party as a civil party.
This was announced in a press release from SOS Impresa. The facts date back to February 2020. After Gallucci approached the construction site where the company was carrying out work on the public housing complex in the municipality of Grumo Nevano. The company is also on the prefecture's "White list", free from mafia infiltration. The entrepreneur decided to immediately report the incident and yesterday the sentence arrived.
"This latest incident - says Luigi Cuomo, regional coordinator of Campania for Sos Impresa - demonstrates once again that reporting is worthwhile. Anti-racketeering associations are there and are available to help victims, both in the reporting phase and in the subsequent judicial phase". Lawyer Motta underlines how this is "the latest in a series of trials in that area of the province where there have been several cases on the extortion phenomenon.
Our experience tells us that the anomalous aspect of this story is that it is a public contract. Generally, these are works commissioned by private individuals: this makes us understand that the crisis leads to even overstepping some limits”. “Furthermore – adds Cuomo – we help those who report, to access the solidarity fund to obtain the benefits that the law reserves for those who collaborate to fight and defeat the scourge of racketeering and usury. We at Sos Impresa are always available through our contacts to meet in a confidential and safe way all those who ask for our support”.
