The Carabinieri search the companies on the island of Procida and 4 out of 6 are found to be irregular.
The Carabinieri of the Procida station, together with those of the Naples Labour Inspectorate and personnel from the Territorial Labour Inspectorate, carried out a territorial control service aimed at combating undeclared work and protecting workers' rights.
6 companies were checked, 4 of which did not comply with the rules imposed by labor legislation.
The owner of a construction company had two illegal workers, one of them a non-EU citizen. They were identified on a construction site, without a regular contract. The entrepreneur received a fine and a criminal complaint.
In an ice cream shop, also in this case, the presence of an “illegal” worker was ascertained. The owner will be held accountable with a hefty fine.
Same scenario for a 30-year-old, owner of a restaurant on the island in whose rooms was employed an employee whose contract, never formalized, had been stipulated only by shaking hands.
Finally, another restaurateur was fined for late contractual communications.
