Fear in Ottaviano for numerous bikers and hikers. In the Valle della Delizia area, a 5-year-old Arabian horse had run amok, speeding down the path toward the valley.
The animal then slipped and fell into a ravine among the brambles that had blocked it upside down, causing it several injuries.
The Carabinieri “Parco” of Boscoreale intervened, alerted by 112 at the request of citizens who had witnessed the dangerous race.
The intervention of a soldier who cut the vegetation with makeshift tools and managed to calm the animal was providential.
The ASL staff – who intervened on site to provide first aid – found the Arabian specimen in good health and complimented the Carabinieri for their timely intervention.
Fortunately, no hikers were hurt and the horse was taken to the nearby riding stable from where it had escaped.
