Naples. A sensational and dissenting gesture that will also bring with it a hornet's nest of controversy: the fact is that Ciro Verdoliva, director of the ASL Napoli 1, left the line of people outside the San Carlo and after him also the writer Maurizio De Giovanni.
Too much crowding at the box office Teatro San Carlo in contempt of the anti-Covid regulations: the director of the ASL Napoli 1, Ciro Verdoliva, calls the inspectors and leaves the theater in a sign of dissent. It happens at the Massimo in Naples where the premiere of the film is scheduled Sergio Rubini dedicated to the De Filippo brothers.
“We cannot afford to give this image of Naples” the words of a visibly annoyed Verdoliva as he left the theatre where the President of the Chamber had arrived in the meantime Robert Fig.
“Arriving at the Teatro San Carlo at the time established by the organizers via email and finding such a crowd, I believe, is first and foremost an insult to our daily efforts in fighting the spread of the infection,” adds Ciro Verdoliva.
“For this reason, even if reluctantly, I decided to leave. But first I asked the police to intervene with the organizers of the show so as to break up that absurd gathering as soon as possible. I also activated the Prevention Department for an immediate verification of how the event was organized, to understand if and what measures had been taken, but I certainly did not see any security service to manage the queue.
I want to thank the police who immediately took note of the situation and did everything possible to ease the crowd. This is certainly an evening to forget, which does not reflect the efforts made to fight the pandemic” concludes the general manager of the ASL Napoli 1.
And shortly after the gesture was repeated by the writer Maurizio De Giovanni, he was also among the guests at the San Carlo for the premiere of Sergio Rubini's film on De Filippo brothers.
“I find it incredible what happened tonight at the San Carlo with an organization in contempt of any health precautions. We were lined up one on top of the other, an incredible thing. I didn't feel safe and I preferred to leave”.
